LumenFlow was formed in 2000 by a group of engineers who had worked together at one time or another at Laser Alignment, a Grand Rapids, Michigan company subsequently purchased by Leica Geosystems.
Based in Middleville, Michigan, a small township a few miles south of Grand Rapids, LumenFlow prides itself on its photonics design, development, and manufacturing capabilities. LumenFlow arrived on the scene just in time for one of the largest recessions
and industry oversupply periods in photonics industry history. Despite that, however, LumenFlow
survived those first few years, due in large part to an ability to solve problems others
couldn’t solve.
